Salary: up to $90,000

Location: Boston area, remote

Job Overview: 

A rapidly expanding group that owns and manages several restaurant chains. This position is for a strong Controller who can ensure the quality of financial reporting, establish an internal audit program, and manage external audits. The existing accounting team will not report to the controller, as we want this new position to perform an independent review of financials and focus on quality assurance and process improvements rather than overseeing day-to-day tasks.

Responsibilities: 

• Review monthly financials for all brands
• Participate in month-end/year-end closing reviews
• Assist with deep dives into areas of focus
• Review and assist with reconciliations as needed
• Formulate policies/procedures necessary for the accounting team and ensure compliance with those guidelines
• Improve and define internal controls, and implement an internal audit program for all brands
• Prepare GAAP financial statements and manage external audits for audited brands
• Hold accounting operations team to a high standard
• Assist with federal, state, and local filing requirements

Requirements: 

• 5+ years of experience as a controller or senior accountant within the restaurant/hospitality industry preferred
• 5+ years of experience in diverse accounting roles required
• CPA and/or audit experience preferred
• Strong comfort with accounting technology
• Proficiency in Excel modeling
• Willingness to support other tasks as needed
