We provide Tool Design, Engineering, and Design/Build services to the Aerospace and Defense industries. JOB SUMMARY

The Field Service Technician is part of the after-sales support team. They install and maintain equipment at our customer’s facilities. Technicians are responsible for control equipment CNC-PLC repair and troubleshooting, programming, calibration and verification, adjustment and process optimization, acceptance, and training during internal and external installation and maintenance.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Complete programming to implement solutions, calibration, and adjustment process tasks
· Coordinates and interfaces directly with customers, suppliers, and other entities to ensure that all customer requirements, goals, and objectives are fully understood and communicated to senior management
· Complete customer final acceptance under the Service Manager’s supervision according to the acceptance protocol
· Identify and apply technical solutions to problems or incidents arising during the after-sales services or commissioning process in order to guarantee performance and communication
· Communicates pertinent project data and information to the project coordinator; schedules, work order numbers, notification of milestones, and/or final completion, data transfer, and other customer commitments
· Develop the technical contents necessary for manuals including control operation, troubleshooting, and preventive and corrective maintenance. Carry out final customer training for the correct machine operation and the adequate use of manuals
· Practices thorough records-keeping and actively maintains project notebooks.

· Comply with company policies and meet performance expectations established by your supervisor.

 

REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
· Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
· Understanding of electrical and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings
· Technical Software: PLC/CNC experience, SIEMENS, and FANUC preferred
· CNC Software: Siemens Sinumerik – Sinumerik Operate
· CNC Software: troubleshooting alarms; know how to trace alarms to find the root cause
· PLC Software: Siemens TIA Portal V15
· PLC Software: troubleshooting alarms; know how to trace alarms to find the root cause
· HMI Software: the ability to work with the database, SQL Server Management Studio
· Ability to replace plug-and-play modules

· Ability to perform disassembly, replacement, and adjustment of mechanical components.

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
· High School diploma/GED required; Associate degree or technical certification in related field or higher preferred
· Ability to lawfully enter and operate a motor vehicle in Canada.

· Ability to occasionally travel internationally
·Work experience directly related to the troubleshooting, repair, and programming of PLCs (Siemens, Omron, FANUC), CNC machines (Siemens, FANUC), and other automation equipment (drivers, sensors, pneumatic and hydraulic components)

· Fluency in the Spanish language is preferred but not required.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
· May have significant travel required to customer locations across the US, up to 50% of time worked. Typically, trips can range from 5 days to 3 weeks.
· Sufficiently mobile to conduct business throughout company and customer facilities, including aircraft final assembly tooling and facilities.
· Able to work at the company or customer facilities, in excess of eight hours per day or 40 hours per week on a second shift and/or weekends if necessary.
