Role: Bankruptcy Dept – Legal Assistant, Bankruptcy Liens
Status: Contract to Hire or Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Onsite in NYC Office
Shift: Mon - Friday, 9a to 6p, 35 hours a week
Contract Duration: about 3 to 4 months

Responsibilities and Duties
Identify potential liens.
Audit claims for potential issues.
Lien-specific client communication.
Regular Lien Administrator communication and follow-up.
Negotiation with lienholders.
Compliance with healthcare reimbursement regulations.
Data input and regular tracking of liens.
Global program status monitoring (AMP, PLRP, etc).
Regular firm-wide lien status reporting.
Act as an internal point of escalation for lien issues at W&L.
Act as an external point of escalation for lien issues with clients, lien administrators, lienholders, and more.
Coordination of defense-side reporting issues.
Coordination with Accounting Department for release of client funds upon lien resolution.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Prior Legal Experience Preferred
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
Excellent Time Management Skills
Strong Excel skills preferred
Ability to manage high case volume and a large volume of data
Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
