Manufacturing Operations Project Leader

Take your next career step with a global team that is energizing the transformation of society and industry to achieve a more productive, sustainable future.  In this position, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating production strategic initiatives, NPD (New Product Development), project ramp ups, global product localization projects, and continuous improvement projects that help achieve business targets.  The focus is on planning and execution to drive strategic improvement projects through introducing new processes, technologies, tools and equipment while meeting operations and quality deliverables to ensure proper hand off to the production team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Prepare project plans, schedule and budgets by working with appropriate members of the organization to understand the scope, level of effort and resource requirements, utilizing tools like MS Project, etc
  • Coordinate project execution by assigning tasks and tracking projects schedules.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers & internal stakeholders in the specification, design, acceptance testing criteria, commissioning and handoff of new production processes and technology
  • Participate in strategic planning initiatives regarding the manufacturing layout and integration of new production tools, processes and technologies.
  • Be the production lead in new product ramp-ups and handoff to the production team.
  • Collaborate with production to gather improvement ideas and translate ideas into requirements and actionable projects
  • Define the working phase sequence of a new production process to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget.
  • Ensures appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance and materials/components in support of production targets
  • Identify and recommends improvement opportunities and implements improvement projects, ensuring adherence to timeframe, quality and cost requirements.
  • Provides support to Production during the internal/external process/equipment start up, defining action plans and training relevant maintenance and production resources
  • Evaluate new process technologies to improve productivity, quality and cost reduction, defining and leading testing activities, approval criteria and external provider choices.
  • Creates work plans and cost estimates of projects and ensures quality deliverables on time and within targeted cost
  • Prepare project documentation within one’s scope of deliverables.
  • Organize and oversee contractors during process/equipment installation ensuring proper communication occurs with stakeholders and safety protocols are adhered to

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering preferred) and 8 years of related experience OR Associate's degree (Technical field preferred) and 10 years of related experience required.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving ability and experience managing projects (informal or formal)
  • Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing Concepts is required.
  • Travel up to 10% required.
  • Previous experience working in a production facility focused on assembly technologies highly preferred.
  • Experience with SAP, having a basic understanding of CAD (Auto-desk/AutoCAD) and able to create and present concepts within team of direct peers as well as senior level management are preferred
