Position Overview:
The New Product Development Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and commercializing new products that align with our client's mission to deliver industry-leading safety solutions. This position is ideal for an early to mid-career engineer eager to apply technical expertise, creativity, and project management skills to bring innovative products from concept to market. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams—including R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and sales—to ensure successful product launches and continuous improvement of existing solutions.
Responsibilities:
Lead and participate in the full product development lifecycle, from ideation and concept generation to prototyping, testing, and commercialization
Develop and evaluate design concepts using CAD and other engineering tools; create detailed product specifications and drawings
Build and test prototypes, analyze performance data, and iterate designs to optimize functionality, safety, and manufacturability
Select appropriate materials and design manufacturing processes in line with quality, cost, and sustainability goals
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth transition from development to production
Support commercialization efforts by working with marketing and sales to develop product positioning, packaging, and launch strategies
Ensure all products comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies
Document and communicate project status, technical findings, and recommendations to stakeholders
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
1–5 years of experience in product engineering, product development, or a related technical role (internships and co-ops considered for early career applicants)
Proficiency in CAD software, specifically SolidWorks and engineering analysis tools
Experience with prototyping, testing, and manufacturing processes; knowledge of additive manufacturing or advanced materials is a plus
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
Demonstrated creativity, initiative, and a passion for innovation
Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory requirements relevant to industrial products is preferred
