Their patented high-friction coating technology enhances safety by reducing slips and falls, particularly in environments prone to oil, chemical, or water spills.

Position Overview:

The New Product Development Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and commercializing new products that align with our client's mission to deliver industry-leading safety solutions. This position is ideal for an early to mid-career engineer eager to apply technical expertise, creativity, and project management skills to bring innovative products from concept to market. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams—including R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and sales—to ensure successful product launches and continuous improvement of existing solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and participate in the full product development lifecycle, from ideation and concept generation to prototyping, testing, and commercialization

  • Develop and evaluate design concepts using CAD and other engineering tools; create detailed product specifications and drawings

  • Build and test prototypes, analyze performance data, and iterate designs to optimize functionality, safety, and manufacturability

  • Select appropriate materials and design manufacturing processes in line with quality, cost, and sustainability goals

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth transition from development to production

  • Support commercialization efforts by working with marketing and sales to develop product positioning, packaging, and launch strategies

  • Ensure all products comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies

  • Document and communicate project status, technical findings, and recommendations to stakeholders

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the engineering team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

  • 1–5 years of experience in product engineering, product development, or a related technical role (internships and co-ops considered for early career applicants)

  • Proficiency in CAD software, specifically SolidWorks and engineering analysis tools

  • Experience with prototyping, testing, and manufacturing processes; knowledge of additive manufacturing or advanced materials is a plus

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams

  • Demonstrated creativity, initiative, and a passion for innovation

  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulatory requirements relevant to industrial products is preferred
