Work Location: Fair Lawn, NJ (HYBRID role; 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week. Fridays are always remote with a half-day schedule from 9:00am-1:00pm)

Work Schedule/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day (standard business hours)

Compensation: $45,000-$55,000 annually upon permanent hire (competitive hourly W2 contract rate during contract period)

Overview:

Our client is a growing fashion accessories and licensed consumer products organization specializing in jewelry, novelty accessories, and branded merchandise for girls, tweens, and teens. The company partners with leading entertainment, lifestyle, and retail brands to develop innovative licensed and private label products sold through major retailers and specialty channels.

The Product Development Coordinator (Licensed Accessories) will support the end-to-end product development process by creating technical specification packages, coordinating artwork approvals, managing sample development, and collaborating with internal teams, licensors, and overseas manufacturing partners. This position is ideal for an early-career product development professional with strong Adobe Creative Suite skills and an interest in licensed consumer products, fashion accessories, and product design.

Responsibilities:

  • Create technical specification files used for costing, sampling, and production of licensed and private label accessories.

  • Develop and review vendor-ready artwork files and upload materials to manufacturer FTP sites to support the sampling process.

  • Partner closely with Licensing and Production teams to ensure artwork adheres to licensor brand guidelines and approved standards.

  • Collaborate with Product Development and Sales leadership to identify opportunities to enhance products during pre-production.

  • Revise artwork based on feedback from buyers, licensors, and manufacturing partners to improve quality, cost efficiency, and manufacturability.

  • Support product sampling activities and ensure samples accurately reflect approved specifications and artwork.

  • Maintain accurate organization and file management of technical specifications and artwork on company servers.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to support project timelines and key product development milestones.

  • Assist with communication between internal stakeholders and overseas manufacturing partners.

  • Support ongoing product development initiatives and special projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher required.

  • 1-3 years of professional experience in product development, graphic production, product design, or a related field.

  • Experience working with licensed consumer products, accessories, apparel, or other consumer goods preferred.

  • Working knowledge/professional experience with Adobe Illustrator AND Adobe Photoshop on Mac platforms.

  • Experience creating technical specification sheets and production-ready artwork.

  • Strong attention to detail, including color accuracy, artwork quality, and file organization.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, licensors, manufacturers, and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Product Design, Fashion Merchandising, or a related discipline.

  • Experience with licensed consumer products.

  • Experience creating vector artwork and preparing production-ready files.

  • Experience working with overseas manufacturers and product sampling processes.

  • Experience with novelty products, fashion accessories, gift items, or similar consumer products.
