Job Title: SAP ABAP Consultant

Job Type: Contract (W2)

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 6 Months (with potential for extension)

Work Location: Remote (with occasional/minimal travel required)

Work Schedule/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day (standard business hours)

Compensation: $70.00 to $80.00 per hour

Overview:

Our client is a global consulting and technology organization supporting enterprise-scale SAP transformation initiatives across supply chain, procurement, and product sourcing environments. This role will support SAP S/4HANA modernization efforts with a focus on custom development, Fiori applications, integrations, and next-generation ABAP development practices.

The SAP ABAP Consultant will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting scalable SAP applications and integrations supporting business-critical supply chain and sourcing processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise across SAP S/4HANA, modern ABAP development methodologies, RAP, and Fiori/UI5 technologies while operating effectively within Agile delivery teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain SAP ABAP solutions supporting business-critical functions.

  • Develop modern SAP applications utilizing SAP RAP and Fiori/UI5 technologies.

  • Translate functional specifications into technical specifications and solution designs.

  • Design, implement, test, and maintain integrations and interfaces between SAP and external systems.

  • Participate in software design, development, debugging, testing, deployment, and support activities.

  • Review and analyze functional requirements to determine technical solutions.

  • Support CI/CD methodologies and automated deployment processes where applicable.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, functional teams, and technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.

  • Utilize collaboration and project management tools including Jira, Confluence, Teams, and Zoom.

  • Provide technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support as needed.

  • Support ongoing enhancements and modernization efforts across SAP environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP ABAP, and SAP Fiori development.

  • Experience with SAP UI5/Fiori application development.

  • Experience with software design, development, testing, debugging, and deployment methodologies.

  • Experience translating functional requirements into technical designs and specifications.

  • Experience designing and maintaining interfaces between SAP and external systems.

  • Experience working within Agile environments utilizing Scrum, Kanban, or similar methodologies.

  • Experience with project management and collaboration tools including Jira and Confluence.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively within distributed and virtual teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Product Sourcing, Quotation Management, and related integrations.

  • Experience with RAP (Restful ABAP Programming Model).

  • Experience with CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model).

  • Experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite and Cloud Integration.

  • Experience with SAP BTP API Hub and API Management.

  • Experience with Solution Manager, Focused Build, and ChaRM.

  • Experience with GitLab and GitHub source control repositories.

  • Ability to operate effectively within highly collaborative virtual teams.

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Experience supporting Supply Chain, Ariba, and Product Sourcing organizations.
