Work Location: Remote AND Traveling position; candidates located in CT (preferred), NC, VA, or Chicago/Chicagoland, IL may be considered for this role

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40+ hours per week

Travel: At least 50%

Travel Schedule & Information:

  • Weekly travel: Fly out Monday, onsite Monday afternoon through Friday morning, return home Friday afternoon

  • Remote work when not traveling (approximately 1 week per month)

Salary Range: $70,000-$85,000

Their capabilities include hybrid printing for web presses, industrial inkjet platforms, envelope printers, vision integrity systems, inserters, and finishing equipment. They also offer consulting, software development, test lab services, and remote system support.

Position Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to support industrial production inkjet and continuous web press environments across customer sites nationwide.

The ideal candidate comes from a manufacturing or print factory background and is comfortable working around analog web presses, high-volume inkjet platforms, and finishing equipment. Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills are essential, including regular use of a volt meter.

Please Note: This role is hands-on and field-based, supporting large-format production printing systems — NOT office copiers or standard MFP equipment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Install, service, and support DDS production inkjet and web press systems following technical drawings and SOPs

  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues using diagnostic tools including volt meters and multimeters

  • Support large-scale industrial inkjet printers (color or monochrome preferred)

  • Work directly in production print factory environments with continuous web presses

  • Diagnose system failures, replace components, and order parts as needed

  • Collaborate with internal engineering and support teams

  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through professional onsite support

  • Provide remote technical support when not traveling

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Minimum 4+ years of hands-on service experience in production print, manufacturing, or industrial equipment environments

  • Experience working with continuous web presses, production inkjet systems, or large-scale printing equipment

  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude

  • Hands-on experience using a volt meter for troubleshooting

  • Comfortable working in factory / production floor settings

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics

  • Proficiency with Windows-based systems

  • Valid driver’s license and passport

  • Ability to pass a background check & drug test

Preferred Experience:

  • Analog web press facility experience

  • Industrial inkjet (color or monochrome)

  • Vision systems, finishing equipment, or mail/insert operations

  • Manufacturing maintenance or production print backgrounds
