Compensation: $56.50 to $64.66 per hour
Overview:
Our client is a leading energy solutions and infrastructure company that develops, finances, and delivers energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability projects across commercial, institutional, and government sectors. This role supports the corporate tax function during a critical reporting period and will play a key part in tax compliance, multi-state reporting, and tax systems management.
The Corporate Tax Accountant will focus heavily on preparing and consolidating federal, state, and local tax filings while supporting tax analytics, audit responses, and tax accounting system processes. This role requires strong technical tax expertise, particularly with Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, and is best suited for someone who can contribute immediately in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare federal, multi-state, and local income tax returns and extensions using Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Income Tax software.
Perform multi-state tax consolidation and support related compliance reporting.
Create and maintain TAS (Tax Accounting System) processes and related tax reporting workflows.
Assist with the compilation, analysis, and review of information required to respond to federal and state tax notices and audit requests.
Maintain tax depreciation reports and projections using fixed asset software.
Support the preparation of Forms 5471, country-by-country reporting, and state apportionment schedules.
Collaborate with internal accounting teams to gather financial and tax-related data.
Utilize Microsoft Power BI to support tax reporting, diagnostics, and data analysis.
Perform tax diagnostic reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of filings.
Support additional tax compliance and reporting projects as needed.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Hands-on experience using Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE Income Tax software is required.
4+ years of experience preparing and consolidating federal, multi-state, and local tax returns.
4+ years of experience with multi-state tax consolidation.
Experience creating and maintaining TAS (Tax Accounting System) processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI.
Experience performing tax diagnostics and validating compliance reporting accuracy.
Strong knowledge of corporate income tax compliance and related reporting requirements.
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage deadlines effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field.
Prior corporate tax experience within a multi-entity or multi-state environment.
Experience responding to federal and state tax notices or audit requests.
Familiarity with fixed asset tax depreciation reporting.
Experience supporting international tax reporting, including Forms 5471 or country-by-country reporting.
CPA or progress toward CPA is a plus.
