Mike Gardner joined Bernard Nickels and Associates (BNA) in 2002 as co-owner and Chairman. He believes in establishing strong relationships with his clients by listening and understanding their challenges. As a leader Mike has attracted and developed some of the top talent in the staffing industry. Mike’s team of sales and recruiting professionals has helped BNA gain national recognition and consistent growth.
Prior to joining Bernard Nickels and Associates Mike was Vice President at Ibase Consulting and helped develop the company’s most profitable office. He has over 30 years of business development and management experience. Mike graduated from Southern Connecticut State University with a BA in marketing.
Mike enjoys being active in all kinds of sports both winter and summer. He’s a volunteer for his local church and community. Mike resides in Connecticut and prides himself in his wife of 20 years, his three children and one granddaughter.
Brad Widolok is the founder and CEO of Bernard Nickels and Associates (BNA). He started the firm in 2002 with a focus on providing staffing services to companies across the tri-state area. Since then BNA has grown to become a nationwide full service staffing and recruitment firm servicing multiple lines of business. Brad’s strong work ethic and belief in extreme service to both his clients and candidates is what makes him one of today’s industry leaders.
Prior to starting Bernard Nickels and Associates, Brad was a Managing Director for The Execu|Search Group, a full service recruitment and staffing firm based in New York. Brad started his career in 1996 as an Account Executive for a publicly traded IT training and consulting firm. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1995 with a BA in journalism.
Brad is an avid guitar player and collector. He is also a fitness enthusiast with an emphasis on running, cross-training and yoga. Brad resides in Long Island, NY where he enjoys spending his free time with his wife and three children.
An influential member of our firm since 2005, Dave is a Partner who has spent the last 6 years building our Energy Practice. In this area he concentrates on Engineering, Technology, Business Development and Operations. Dave is a team player and leads by example by always going the distance and by treating clients, candidates and colleagues with honesty and respect.
“Treat others as you would like to be treated. Look through their lens and see what they are seeing. Always do the right thing!” With this mentality Dave serves as a strong mentor and leader with in the firm.
Prior to joining Bernard Nickels and Associates Dave was the Managing Partner at Trykor Rolling Media. A company that he had started on his own and grew into a leading national media company.
Dave earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Hartford
He is a proud Husband and Father of two twin girls and lives in New Jersey. He enjoys surfing, hiking, gardening, and music.
Sales & Recruiting
An important member of Bernard Nickels & Associates Recruitment Team (since 2007), Tom focuses on roles that specialize in the IT, Human Resources, Marketing and Legal verticals. Throughout his 10-year recruiting career with BNA, Tom is a team player who leads by example and always going the distance; treating clients, candidates, and colleagues with transparency, honesty and respect.
Tom holds an MBA in Marketing from Adelphi University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Miami. Prior to BNA, he spent 12 years in the direct marketing working at Avon and Fortunoff.
Tom is a board member for an organization responsible for running intramural sports programs and is Director of Baseball Programs in Long Island where he resides with his wife and two children.
Noah Nielsen joined BNA as an entry level recruiter fresh out of college and never looked back. Establishing himself early on as a top performer, Noah grew to become recruiting manager and successfully led our team in New York. Since 2014, he has focused on business development and account management where Noah prides himself on building mutually beneficial long-term relationships with both clients and candidates while providing extreme service. He enjoys helping his clients build high performing teams and excels at filling the most challenging positions by bringing passive candidates to the table.
Noah earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science from the University of Vermont where he was a Green & Gold scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He is currently serving his second term on UVM’s New York Regional Alumni Board.
He lives in New York City with his wife and puppy and enjoys playing guitar, basketball, and learning new things.
Matt is a Senior Technical Recruiter and Technical Recruitment Team Lead at BNA for the past 6 years. Matt loves everything about technology. He always stays in tune with latest tech trends & innovations. Matt serves as a technical liaison on calls with hiring managers and technical teams. Matt loves hunting for rare talent (niche skill sets) and matching them with the right company. He thrives at building rapport with candidates before, during and after they’ve been hired.
Prior to joining the BNA family, Matt was a Licensed Personal Banker with JP Morgan Chase where he developed key relationships with affluent customers in order to acquire, retain and deepen their personal banking relationships.
Matt has a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science and Information Systems from Dowling College in Long Island, NY. He resides in Queens with his wife who’s his college sweetheart. He is a travel enthusiast and loves anything science fiction. He also loves video games, New York Comic Con and all types of science.
Dan Brusco joined BNA in 2013 as an Executive Recruiter and has since been promoted to a Senior Executive Recruiter. He works with the client executive teams to source and fill senior and management level IT positions.
Dan graduated from Loyola University Maryland in 2012 with a B.B.A in Finance. In his free time, Dan likes to stay active playing in city basketball and softball leagues. He enjoys spending his weekends on the North Fork of Long Island. Dan resides in New York, NY with his wife and loves trying new restaurants throughout the city.
Kevin joined BNA as a Recruiter in early 2014 where he specialized in high volume tech recruiting. After two years in recruitment across multiple practice areas, he transitioned into client development and became BNA’s newest Account Manager. Kevin now focuses his efforts on partnering with top-tier clients to provide recruitment services in all of BNA’s verticals. Kevin prides himself in his reliability, relentless work ethic, and overall kindness.
Kevin graduated from the University of Albany with BA in Economics. When he isn’t recruiting, Kevin can be found strumming the guitar with friends, playing in charity softball tournaments, or exploring our beautiful country. He resides in Manhattan where he spends time with his family and friends.
Matt joined BNA in 2014 after graduating from St. John’s University College of Business with a BS in Marketing. He has worked primarily in Technology, Accounting/Finance, Engineering and Legal Services. Matt prides himself on establishing transparent relationships with candidates to assist them into making the most beneficial and fulfilling career decisions.
Matt resides in Long Island and maintains a very active life style. His hobbies include spending time with friends, playing sports and traveling to different beaches.
Will joined the BNA team in early 2016 as an Executive Recruiter focusing in the IT, Finance and HR sectors. He makes it a point to build strong rapport with candidates to better understand their career goals and expectations.
Prior to working at BNA, Will was a veterinarian attendant at a local animal hospital in his hometown. Will graduated from Skidmore College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
In his free time, Will enjoys traveling, culinary arts, hiking with his dog, swimming, and rock climbing.
Having just joined the team in January of 2017, Kevin is excited to become a valued member of the BNA team. Kevin is extremely diligent and willing to go the extra mile to make sure all his candidate needs are satisfied.
Kevin received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration at Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. He is an avid martial arts enthusiast with a first degree black belt in Taekwondo focusing on Boxing and Kickboxing. He lives in Long Island, NY where he enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Marley joined BNA in 2017 after graduating from the University of Maryland. Her interest in talent acquisition began in college, as she served as her sorority president and was responsible for the recruitment of new members. Marley enjoys connecting candidates with exciting career opportunities, primarily in non-technical space.
When she’s not in the office, Marley is most likely exploring NYC’s parks, sights, and restaurants. Marley is originally from California, so she still often feels like a tourist in the city!
Sarah started her career at BNA in 2015, after several years of corporate recruitment in Toronto, Canada. She is the team lead in the Administrative Recruitment department, and primarily recruits for Human Resources, Legal, Executive Administrative and Office Support roles. She thoroughly enjoys connecting with candidates, and matching the best and brightest talent with amazing opportunities.
Afterhours, Sarah is an avid yoga enthusiast and enjoys cooking vegan meals with her husband.
Alyson joined BNA in 2016 as a Research Administrator. In her role, she assists both the sales and recruitment team with business development as well as researching for potential clients and candidates.
Alyson graduated from Manhattanville College with a BA in Finance. She is a music enthusiast and an avid sports fan. Alyson enjoys volunteering for her parish’s sports association.
Jaime holds a Master’s Degree from Hunter College and joined BNA in 2011. Throughout her six years at BNA, she has served as the point person for all customer and client inquiries, internally and externally. Additionally, she is responsible for managing marketing directives, including social media marketing and management, brand awareness and retention, with a focus on leveraging cutting-edge technology and both traditional and non-traditional channels.
Jaime is a gym enthusiast, always trying out new workout classes around the city. She also enjoys trying new restaurants and exploring all this great city has to offer.
