Status: contract or contract to hire 

Contract Duration: 3 months to start, full-time hours (M-F, 40 hrs a week) 

Location: Remote or Onsite (Atlanta, GA) 

 * three-month contract assignment to start, strong chance of extending, and a strong chance of converting to a permanent role.

** Ideally looking for someone in the Atlanta area to work onsite or hybrid but open to a remote worker with the right experience.

Job Description 

The Paralegal Associate helps coordinate real estate transactions and operational contracts to ensure execution in a timely fashion.  He/she is the front-line communicator concerning document management, contract production, and real property-related legal issues.   

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Oversee and amend general real estate contracts and ensure timely execution. 
  • Generate drafts of basic legal documents 
  • Disseminate all legal requests and respond timely. 
  • Work with outside counsel to handle items such as easement contracts, surveys, and invoicing. 
  • Prepare timber-cutting contracts, hunting leases, and confidentiality agreements for execution. 
  • Coordinate contract activity with Regional Foresters 
  • Review certificates of insurance for contracts 
  • Field emails/phone calls regarding temporary access licenses and hunting leases. 
  • Act as an intermediary between outside consultants and the Legal Department 
  • Establish and maintain internal systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance the Company's value. 
  • Cross-train and serve as a backup for key legal processes during peak workloads and absences of other personnel. 
  • File and mail executed contracts. 
  • Prepare corporate authority documents for managed entities as necessary. 
  • Respond to General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel requests as assigned.  
  • Participate in a wide variety of multiple special legal projects. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS  

  • Paralegal Certificate or similar legal experience  
  • Three to five years working in corporate and commercial real estate transactions.  
  • Experience in reviewing titles and surveys,  
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
