Job Title: Senior Data Center Engineer - $100,000-$250,000 Salary plus bonus

Job Description:

Overview: We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Senior Data Center Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation of network architecture and design within our data centers, ensuring optimal functionality and performance. This position requires a strong background in networking, data center routing, and switching fundamentals, coupled with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to oversee and manage the work of vendors, contractors, and junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Network Architecture and Design:

1. • Analyze and design network architecture within the data center environment.
   • Collaborate with vendors and contractors to implement network solutions.
   • Evaluate and optimize low-latency designs and cross-connects.

1. Technical Oversight:

1. • Act as a technical escalation point for complex issues.
   • Oversee the work of contractors and vendors, providing guidance and mentorship.
   • Collaborate with junior team members, offering training and support.

1. Hands-On Technical Expertise:

1. • Possess strong hands-on technical skills to troubleshoot and fix issues independently.
   • Implement best practices and train others on technical procedures.
   • Ensure the successful execution of projects within budget constraints.

1. Communication and Collaboration:

1. • Maintain open communication with on-site personnel and the global team.
   • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of networking solutions.
   • Document and share important knowledge with the team.

Qualifications:

• Advanced knowledge and experience in networking, Linux server management, and data center routing and switching fundamentals.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage a queue of work for specific sites.
• Excellent organizational skills with the capability to oversee and manage the work of others.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with on-site personnel and the global team.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot network issues and configure hardware from vendors such as Dell, Cisco, Arista, or similar.
• Experience with network troubleshooting, hardware deployment, and server OS installation/configuration.

Additional Requirements:

• Familiarity with low-latency design and the ability to analyze low-level latency cross-connects.
• Willingness to engage in hands-on work to fix problems independently and guide others.
• Experience training and mentoring junior staff.
• Ability to document processes and knowledge effectively.
