Max Salary: $87,760 = ~$43.00/hr - This compensation range considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

 

Overview:

This role, as part of the maintenance team, will be primarily responsible for diagnosing problems and making repairs to existing refrigeration and HVAC equipment.  You will apply troubleshooting methods, replace parts, and run tests to ensure the systems are working properly.  You will also collaborate with other Maintenance Personnel as appropriate.

  • This job would be part of the Union; the probationary period first 90 days; The Union is UFCW Local 342
  • The daily schedule for both is 7am - ~330pm, with occasional Saturday work.
  • Union benefits include no premium for health insurance for employees and dependents.  Partners/spouses are not eligible for coverage at this time.
  • Refrigeration system knowledge is needed to maintain and repair evaporators (fans and defrost cycle components), compressors, pressure switches, TXVs, etc.
  • Ability to pull the system down to make needed repairs. Ability to identify compressor oil flow status.
  • The 5 certifications listed below are heavily preferred, but we will assist the right candidate in obtaining what they currently do not have.

 

What You Will Do:

  • You will monitor machine performance including downtime and output performance of equipment.
  • There will be a focus on maintaining and scheduling PM/WO assignments and projects.
  • You will work on and perform the repairs and maintenance of all equipment.
  • You will provide the support and guidance for ensuring all Refrigeration/HVAC/ equipment and facilities are in good repair and meeting production requirements.
  • You will oversee and manage HVAC procedures and operations.
  • This role will support and prioritize necessary repair and troubleshooting by managing priorities aligned to operational needs.
  • You will complete documentation as required for CMMS i.e. PO, WO, PM.
  • You will guide leadership on root-cause failure analysis.
  • There will be a focus on developing and maintaining vendor relationships and ordering material as appropriate through maintenance management.
  • You will treat safety as a priority while maintaining Lockout/Tagout programs, Hot Work permitting, etc.
  • You will maintain plant equipment to OEM standards or better through continuous improvement.

Education & Experience:

  • Technical associate degree strongly preferred and at least two years’ applicable experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in Refrigeration/HVAC maintenance and installation.

Skills & Abilities:

  • You possess or are interested in pursuing the following certifications:
    • EPA Section 608 Technician Certification.
    • FDNY G-60 Certificate of Fitness for Torch Use of Flammable Gasses.
    • FDNY F-60 Certificate of Fitness for Fireguards or Torch Operations.
    • FDNY F-01 Certificate of Fitness for Citywide Fire Guard Impairment.
    • Inactive Q-01 Certificate of Qualification for Refrigeration Engineer.
  • You can read and interpret documents such as electrical and pneumatic drawings, safety rules, operations manuals, and written directions.
  • You can demonstrate electrical control skills.
  • You are proficient in Refrigeration/HVAC and facilities maintenance.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • You possess installation and troubleshooting skills for heating and cooling systems.
  • You can install individual parts (pumps, pipes, fans, etc.).
  • Using power tools safely is a skill that you bring to Acme.
  • You can maintain air and water treatments in HVAC systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, or legs to perform job tasks.
  • Must be able to reach above and below shoulder height to move product.  This includes the ability to move throughout all areas of the facility.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • The ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects using hands, arms, back, abdominal muscles, shoulders, legs, or a combination of these muscle groups.
  • The ability to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job duties.
  • The ability to work in cold (-10 to 45*F) and wet environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times.
