Salary Range: $80,000 to $100,000

Join our leading Insurance client's growing HR team in the dynamic role of HR Generalist, where you'll be at the forefront of shaping our client's success through talent acquisition, onboarding, employee development/training, and process enhancement efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all aspects of recruitment process to include developing job descriptions, determining FLSA status, researching recruitment resources, conducting pre-interview of all potential candidates, conducting references and background checks, greeting applicants, and administering any pre-employment tests as necessary, interviewing potential candidates, and collaborating with managers to assess candidates.
  • Maintain orientation materials and conduct New Hire Orientations as needed.
  • Stay current with recruitment and retention trends and other HR issues; bring to the attention of VP HR, if needed, to make recommendations to changes in process to ensure compliance or 'best practice'.
  • Stay current with competitors' benefits and recruitment trends; advise and update as needed.
  • Run various statistical recruitment reports to showcase trends such as retentions, new hires vs. vacancies, hiring sources used to highlight sources of strength or avenues that are successful.
  • Follow-up with any needed onboarding tasks for new hires to include all aspects of new employee paperwork.
  • Conduct Retention Interviews with new and current employees.
  • Identify and work with VP HR to develop training protocol and/or programs for employees (i.e. new supervisors).
  • Develop relationships with staffing agencies; negotiate terms of employment with agencies.
  • Support development and improvement of HR department and collaborate with VP HR on projects related to process improvement and optimization.
  • Assist department in taking phone calls and acting as liaison, where appropriate, between vendors, employees, and management.
  • Develop the internship program and work alongside HR Manager to coordinate and plan
  • Develop, coordinate, and plan for participation in college career fairs.
  • Assist VP HR in preparing and planning for yearly performance management process.
  • Assist department in ensuring smooth transition for all HR-sponsored meetings to include arranging conference calls, organizing hand-outs, preparing for introduction to meetings.
  • Other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (required). A degree in Business/HR Management is strongly preferred.
  • 2-3 years working in Human Resources department required, in a Generalist capacity.
  • Knowledge of/experience using the ADP Workforce Now system (preferred).
  • Intermediate level of experience using LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Intermediate knowledge of recruitment-related pay, labor and FLSA issues in order to accurately assess positions and guide managers.
  • Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality regarding HR-related issues.
  • Ability to foster relationships and dialogue with all levels of employees.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Ability to comfortably present information in a professional and organized way to small groups of employees.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasks and adhering to deadlines.
  • Must be cooperative, have the ability to work in a team and have a constructive, respectful attitude toward colleagues, insured’s, clients and the company.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have good organizational skills.
  • Must dress in professional business attire at all "client-facing" meetings. Although not all inclusive, includes clothing that is neat, clean and tidy in appearance (e.g. suits, sports jackets, dresses, blouses and shirts with ties).
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others in a professional manner.
  • Ability to function in a professional office environment and utilize standard office equipment.
