Financial Operations Associate (Alternative Investments)

Location: Manhattan, NY (100% in-office position)

Pay Range: $23 to $27 per hour

Description: Wealth Management Operations provides brokerage, investment, and financial services to hundreds of thousands of individual investors. Our client applies their expertise in serving institutional clients to create new opportunities for people to achieve their personal financial goals. Our client has one of the largest retail brokerage networks, with numerous worldwide representatives and retail locations. Their services are tailored to each client's investment objectives, risk tolerance, and financial needs. Products include mutual funds, stocks, bonds, and alternative investments where appropriate, as well as banking, mortgages, insurance, and annuities. This role is within Wealth Management Operations supporting the Alternative Investments business. The Alternative Investments Operations team is responsible for processing transactions, facilitating cash payments between asset managers and investors, and updating and managing client's alternative investment positions on an internal platform. Transactions include subscriptions, capital calls, distributions, dividends, redemptions, and transfers. This role entails heavy interaction with our internal business partners in Alternative Investments and Operations and external contacts at the asset management firms whose products are on their internal platform.

Qualifications:

- Perform reconciliations between Recon Files vs. Books and Records (how to handle breaks through research and resolve the issues)

- Bachelor's Degree (required). A degree in Finance, Accounting, and/or Economics is strongly preferred.

- At least 2 to 4 years of Finance industry/Alternative Investment Operations experience

- Experience with different types of Transactions (Subscriptions, Capital Calls, Distributions, Dividends, Redemptions and Transfers)

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel/VLOOKUP/Pivot Tables

- Efficient time management skills and ability to prioritize competing urgent tasks

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills

- Ability to think and act like an owner

- Ability to take direction and work independently, as well as in a team environment

- High level of attention to detail and understanding the importance of accuracy in quality
