Summarizing our discussion in terms of background, the role, and your requirements:
•    You run the project management initiatives for trade management globally
•    You support 5-6 core businesses all with their own instances of the same systems within the trade flow cycle. Trades are booked in the different instances of the OMS, feeding to a central repository and simultaneously feeding onto trade management teams and the ledger, external custodians, and brokers.
•    You work on small initiatives and big initiatives, the big-ticket items involving reducing headcount and the launching of new products.
•    When enhancements are made, they have an impact on internal and external systems, upstream and downstream, and this is why the projects require a lot of handholding, testing and can take some time to get over the line.
•    You wear multiple hats –
o    Execution of the initiatives/project plans – there will be about 5/6 people per project, running the projects and you touch base with them to ensure they are on track
o    Prioritisation of initiatives – working with COOs
o    Tech resource allocation

Where support is required:
•    You are looking for a project manager who can support you in making the execution of the projects more structured.
•    Be able to apply SCRUM and AGILE methodology, and has JIRA experience
•    If there are ten initiatives running concurrently, have the ability to make sure the relevant stakeholders are updated on status and producing metrics and reports, as well as keeping track of the JIRAs.
•    Some experience of trade mgmt, trade flows, payments, and derivatives would be useful, ut the core job is project management.
•    Understanding JIRA will be key as plan to use it a lot more this year in order to track initiatives and progress more effectively.
•    Role will be at 30 Hudson, Jersey City. Initially, 5 days in the office per week and then at your discretion will change to 3 + days in office (obviously dependent on government COVID guidelines).

Key responsibilities being:

  • Prepare to gain a comprehensive understanding of the trade lifecycle by interacting with traders, strategists, clients, and technologists to work toward the shared goal of risk mitigation
  • Connect daily with traders and brokers to resolve issues and ensure timely settlement of trades
  • Monitor daily reconciliations between various trading systems
  • Understand and improve problem-solving capability for complex trade flow, accounting issues, and transactional discrepancies
  • Leverage your quantitative skills to decompose processes to improve control and scale of the business
  • Grow with the team; develop a deeper understanding of complex transactions and work with our business partners to progress our trade capture capabilities
  • Build relationships with outside financial institutions (brokers, custodians, prime broker and fund administrator) to improve quality and productivity of work, integrating best practices as appropriate
  • Provide project management leadership and/or support for new and existing products, with an emphasis on cooperation with Engineering for the development and enhancement of processes and systems.
  • Maintain team procedures and provide regular management reporting to Operations managers and the business

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree required
  • Professional Experience: At least 4 years with financial products, knowledge in one, or more, derivative/core products with an interest to expand into other areas
  • Client Service: Proven ability to build global relationships and communicate complex issues to a wide array of clients with differing levels of product experience.
  • Communication: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the confidence to engage professionally and persuasively with clients and senior figures within the firm.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of asset management or middle office experience (experience or solid understanding of OTC derivatives/Mortgages/Mutual Funds/Private Investments/Bank Loan confirmations/settlements or related trade support functions preferred)
  • Understanding of industry agenda & platforms (e.g. DTC, ClearPar, SWIFT, FED, Oasys, MBSE, DTCC, Trade Warehouse, Swaps wire etc) is a plus
  • Fail trade/payment investigation experiences preferred
  • Experience in broker and/or client-facing activities
