Job Title: Data Center Operator

Duration: 12+ Months

Location: Summit, NJ & Piscataway, NJ

Pay Rate: $25/hour

Position Overview: 

Our client is looking for someone to split time between two clients, one in Summit, NJ, and the other in Piscataway, NJ. You will be overseeing the data centers and also handling the remote hands for the network team. This role is about 60% technical and 40% non-technical ranging from organizing files/documents to letting individuals into the building to fix larger problems within the data center.

Job Description: 

• Hardware in the Data Center is HPE, EMC, and Pure
• Above-average computer skills, including word processing, and familiarity with Excel spreadsheets.
• Carefully follows written and/or verbal directions
• Working knowledge of data networks and computer systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Ability to perform both operations and maintenance functions
• Excellent communication skills for both written and verbal audiences
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Maintain a safe work environment, follow safety procedures, and proactively report any potential safety hazards
• Monitor Miner Dashboard, respond to issues, and coordinate with Miner Technicians to respond to break/fix issues.
• Ensure optimal miner physical operating environment by controlling building/container fan speeds, seasonal louver position, mitigating weather impacts, and airflow issues
• Perform daily physical rounds to identify, document, resolve or escalate issues encountered
• Assist with Miner Repair as needed
• Other duties as assigned.
