Billing Specialist

Location: Austin, TX -OR- Sacramento, CA -OR- Cupertino, CA (in-office position)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 hours per day, 1st Shift

Pay Range: $23 to $27 per hour

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Billing Specialist to join our team on a temporary basis. The Billing Specialist will be responsible for providing comprehensive billing support within a legal vendor environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in high-volume billing and customer service support, along with proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, Apple iWork, TeamConnect, and support ticketing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process billing transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  2. Handle billing inquiries and resolve customer issues in a timely and professional manner.
  3. Collaborate with internal teams to address billing discrepancies and implement corrective measures.
  4. Generate and distribute invoices, statements, and reports as required.
  5. Maintain accurate billing records and documentation for auditing purposes.
  6. Assist in the development and implementation of billing procedures and workflows to optimize efficiency.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to billing processes and systems.
  8. Provide training and support to staff members on billing-related tasks and systems.

Key Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 5 years of billing support experience, preferably within a legal vendor environment.
  2. Demonstrated experience in handling high-volume billing and customer service support.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Apple iWork applications.
  4. Experience using TeamConnect or similar billing software is highly desirable.
  5. Familiarity with support ticketing systems or equivalent customer-facing service experience.
  6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and billing processing.
  7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external clients.
  8. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  9. High school diploma (or GED) is required. A college degree is preferred.
