Sr. Quality Engineer

Type: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Exempt (Salaried position)

Location: Minden, LA (100% onsite)

Overview: As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will act with safety, efficiency, quality and productivity to assure that products and systems meet stated requirements, employing various test protocols and applying standards to ensure quality. This role will support our Fortune 500 client's Electrification Distribution Solutions operations at one of their supplier's facilities in Minden, LA. This position reports to the Quality Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Project Quality Plan for assigned jobs, perform Structural, Mechanical and Electrical In-Process inspections of the eHouses at the vendors location; identify quality defects or non-conformance issues, generate Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) to the vendors and lead the closure of open quality issues on projects
  • Co-ordinate and oversee Factory Acceptance Tests at the factories and ensure product conformance to specifications and approved design drawings; co-ordinate Integrated Factory Acceptance Tests with customer, suppliers, and internal stake holders at the eHouse vendors, lead resolution of punch list elements prior to shipment
  • Read and interpret as-built electrical equipment and PDC (Power Distribution Center) drawings (single line, general arrangements, schematics and wiring diagrams, etc.) and communicate effectively with suppliers and customers
  • Coordinate installation, integration and testing of electrical equipment inside PDC with supplier (integrator) and field services team
  • Ensure that established quality procedures are adhered to during the project lifecycle, and all checklists are signed off prior to the shipment release of the eHouses
  • Develop Safety plan for the project and ensure the Safety and EHS processes are being followed by our client's internal representatives, vendors & customers; take the lead in documenting, investigating, and resolving any safety related issues during the project execution
  • Develop a cooperative relationship approach with the vendors ensuring that the Quality standards are met; attend customer job sites to address any quality claims submitted by the customer, and work with the project team and supplier to prepare action plans to address issues in a timely manner
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in project execution or product design and communicate to the engineering and manufacturing teams; support the organization with maintaining ISO certification through strong adherence to established QMS; perform new supplier qualification audits and routine audits of existing suppliers

Your Profile:

  • BS/BA degree with minimum 3 years of field experience in Electrical Distribution industry required
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in quality, manufacturing, supply chain, field services
  • Previous E-House including LV and MV equipment experience
  • Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus; proficient with MS Word, Excel, MS Project, other project management tools
  • Good knowledge of Power Equipment products, processes, and solutions
